Education grants are funds awarded for higher education expenses that do not need to be repaid if used in accordance with the terms of the grant. They are usually awarded to students who demonstrate financial need (as determined by the FAFSA). Sources of grants include the federal government, state governments, institutions of higher learning, and private and nonprofit organizations.

To see if you qualify for grant aid, complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and talk with your school’s financial aid office.
